Dr. Steve Webb, Superintendent

 

Dr. Webb has been the Superintendent of Goreville Community Unit School District #1 for the past 6 years. He was previously the Superintendent of Thompsonville Schools in Thompsonville, IL for three years. He was also the Principal, Athletic Director, and Boys Basketball Coach at Joppa prior to leaving for Thompsonville. Dr. Webb has now returned to his home town where he played on the first Goreville boys basketball team to win a Conference Tournament, Regional Tournament, and compete in the Sectional Tournament in 1987. He was an All-Conference, All-South and an Honorable Mention Illinois Basketball Coaches Association All-State basketball player while at Goreville. He then earned his Bachelor Degree in Biological Sciences from McKendree College, his Master of Science in Education Administration and Doctorate in Education Administration from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Dr. Webb serves on the Illinois Association of School Administrators Board of Directors, the Jobs for Illinois Graduates Board of Directors, is Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Illinois State Beta Club, and is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for JAMP Special Education. Dr. Webb, is the son of the late Bob Webb, a former Goreville Teacher, Coach, Athletic Director and Principal, and Edna Webb.  Dr. Webb currently resides in Tunnel Hill with his wife Angie and their four children.

Mrs. Jeri Miller, High School Principal 

Mrs. Miller, who has over 19 years experience as an educator and administrator at Goreville Schools, has served as a Special Education Teacher, Special Education Coordinator, and Assistant Principal. She received her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, specializing in Special Education in 1991 and her Masters in Educational Administration in 2006.  She is a member of the School Improvement Committee, School Handbook Committee, School Technology Team, Learning Partnership Team, and was the President of the Goreville United Federation of Teachers.  Mrs. Miller currently resides in Goreville with her husband Scott and their daughter Shelbey.

Mrs. Bobbi Bigler, Elementary Principal/Special Education Coordinator 

Mrs. Bigler received her Bachelors Degree in Special Education in 1996, her Masters in Special Education in 2001, and her Masters in Educational Administration in 2003.  Mrs. Bigler was most recently employed by the Murphysboro School District where she was a Special Education Teacher and Coordinator for Murphysboro Middle School for the past 11 years.  While at Murphysboro, Mrs. Bigler was a member of the School Improvement Team, Internal Review Committee, Child Study Team, Core Committee, and most recently as the Positive Behavior Interventions Systems Coordinator.  Mrs. Bigler currently resides in Herrin with her husband Shannon and children Kaden and Kelsi.
